On Saturday the 28th of January 2012, very early in the morning (it still felt like the middle of the night!), we drove to Harlingen to take the ferry to Terschelling. We were able to enjoy a fabulous sunrise, as we had to be onboard the boat at 9:15am. Despite the early departure time of the ferry, all participants (a party of 71) arrived in good spirits and right on time at the harbor.
Accompanied by pretty mild, but cloudy weather, we enjoyed the boat trip which took 2 hours. Plenty of time for a nice chat with colleagues and their partners!
Upon arrival at the harbor we left our luggage behind and walked to the Hotel Westcord Schylge, a luxury 4-star hotel with a wonderful view over the Wadden Sea. Nearby the hotel we saw a seal resting on the beach.
At the hotel we were welcomed with a hearty and delicious lunch.
Thereafter we had some time for some activity in the afternoon! Everyone took part in a GPS-guided hike across the island. This turned out not to be very easy for everyone, the lesson our group learned: never leave the paved roads.... Luckily in the end we were welcomed with a campfire, hot chocolate and apple pie. After this rewarding break, 4 coaches with horses picked us up for an island tour. While we had a drink on the coach, a Terschelling herbal liquor, the coachman animatedly recounted the history of the island.
The trip was tough for the people without a bourgondic lifestyle, because we did not stop eating and drinking: the horses brought us to a hotel where we could taste smoked mackerel and, of course again the Terschelling herbal liquor, whilst listening to the sound of an accordion. It was getting dark, so we walked back to our hotel where it was time to relax in our rooms!
In the evening we went to the bar for a little drink followed by a 4-course dinner in the warm atmosphere of the restaurant. Many people joined the after-party in the small discotheque of the Schylge hotel where we had a lot of fun.
On Sunday morning everyone had their own leisure time. We enjoyed the ample breakfast and visited the cute seal for the last time. It turned out to be a very cold day, a perfect day to leave the island as it had begun: a short walk back to the ferry.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and look back on it with great pleasure!

Wij hebben met ons bedrijf een uitje gedaan naar Terschelling voor twee dagen. De beleving van het "eilandgevoel" en de eilanlandse activiteiten op het strand waren een top ervaring! Die rescueboten waren helemaal geweldig! Voor ons was het echt een onvergelijke belevenis! Bedankt!

Wij zijn i.v.m. ons 40-jarig jubilieum met ons personeel+aanhang een weekendje naar Vlieland geweest. Echt SUPER georganiseerd, Vliehorst-express, vliegeren en strandbuggy rijden! Hotel was ook super!

Veel meer dan waar voor ons geld. Het contact was super. Zowel vooraf als tijdens de bruiloft. Er werd echt mee gedacht en vooral de avond die neergezet werd was gewoon boven verwachting. Eten en feesten op het strand. Wat een prachtige locatie om te trouwen. Ondergaande zon, mooi weer, heerlijk eten. Dag van ons leven gehad. Ontzettend bedankt.
